I specialize in designing survey-based tools and analyzing engagement. I support via Individual giving, IDEA-led data collection training and, analytics roadmap planning.
What kinds of projects, tasks, or challenges do you typically partner with nonprofits on?
1. Surveys: I have done more than 150 surveys just in the past 2-3 years - from campaign feasibility, donor stewardship, membership engagement to program design. I do the whole design, logistics, and super detailed analysis (Likert-scales, ratings, text analysis).
2. Data-driven engagement analysis: This includes simple capacity analysis to the rare occasions of using predictive analytics for the donors. Most of them have been about fundraising-focused donor segmentation based on wealth and affinity (totally non-predictive).
3. Staff training: I support staff in looking at their data collection and analysis methodologies with the lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion (typically 1.5 to 2 hours of training)
4. Research advisory: I support orgs and individuals on ad-hoc questions. Some examples are:
Review ongoing surveys (e.g., membership appeals) to evaluate if they can be redesigned/improved.
Measure satisfaction with a new CRM system within the staff and Board.
Measure nonprofit staff learning and development.
Build a case for CRM on behalf of the leadership to the Board.
5. Training and courses on analytics: I support both - individual prospect researchers and the nonprofit's research teams - to build a simple, practical, and realistic data science-led analytics roadmap (somewhat like a strategic planning session, but for the research teams).
Why would someone choose to work with you?
Because I want to build an intersection of social justice and research + analytics.
